Blue God Entertainment acquires Legends League Cricket licensing rights for Rs 49 crore

Blue God Entertainment, formerly known as Indra Industries, has acquired the long-term licensing rights of Legends League Cricket from its current owner, Absolute Legends Sports, for Rs 49 crore over a 10-year period. The strategic shift marks Blue God Entertainment’s transition from fertiliser manufacturing to the entertainment and sports business, with this acquisition serving as a cornerstone of its new growth direction.

Under the agreement, Blue God Entertainment will hold long-term commercial rights covering media, sponsorship, franchise development, and global content distribution. The transaction enables Absolute Legends Sports to unlock significant value from a globally recognised cricket property while allowing it to concentrate on league expansion, innovation, and the development of new sports intellectual properties.

Vivek Khushalani, Chairman of Absolute Legends Sports, stated that Legends League Cricket has been structured as a scalable global sports property with strong commercial fundamentals and growing fan engagement. He added that the partnership marks the next stage of the league’s evolution by introducing institutional capital, long-term growth visibility, and expanded global opportunities, while enabling an asset-light and scalable growth strategy with continued brand leadership.

Raman Raheja, Co-Founder of Legends League Cricket, described the deal as a defining moment in the global sports business landscape, noting that integrating a premier cricket property with public markets establishes a new framework for valuing, monetising, and scaling sports intellectual properties. A spokesperson for Blue God Entertainment emphasized that Legends League Cricket presents a powerful growth platform with strong commercial potential and that the acquisition aligns with the company’s long-term objective of building a leading sports and entertainment ecosystem.

Season 4 of Legends League Cricket will feature a six-city tour across India from March 6 to March 25. Over previous seasons, the league has featured iconic players such as Chris Gayle, Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Shikhar Dhawan, Dinesh Karthik, and Ross Taylor, further reinforcing the league’s stature as a premier platform for cricketing legends.
